Liverpool's Endrick deal just got a lot more real

Liverpool's chances of signing Endrick from Real Madrid just got a lot more real. Things could escalate from here.

We're massive fans of Endrick, a player who has always looked like he has the potential to become a world-beater, even if he hasn't quite reached that level. Of course, a massive part of that reason is that Real Madrid don't like playing him.

But Endrick went on loan to Lyon last season and his numbers were fantastic, quite honestly. We viewed him as potentially another Roberto Firmino, with the right development, and the fact he can operate on the right flank as well as through the middle makes him a very, very obvious Liverpool target.

We even suspect he could play just off a main striker, such is his skillset. There's just a lot to like about him and while Kylian Mbappe is preventing him from breaking through at Real Madrid, we believe Liverpool could offer him more opportunities.

Endrick didn't quite see things that way. He decided to stay put last summer despite a wealth of interest in him as he wanted to force his way into Real Madrid's side.

That has not happened. And now things are changing.

Endrick's new reality

Cadena SER reports that Endrick is starting to see reality for what it is. The forward isn’t convincing Jose Mourinho that he should be starting matches and it means he’s at least now open to a loan move in January.

But we suspect things are going to develop there. Endrick could go for the loan move, much as he did for the back end of last season, and hope that Real Madrid are watching closely.

Reality, though, is that they will always prefer a new signing. That’s just how Real Madrid operates and if they’re sending you off on loan, it’s unlikely that they’ll bring you back.

That might be different for players like Nico Paz at Como who they intend to make giant profits on. But on the whole, they’re more willing to sell what they’ve got than stay patient with it.

And so we feel they’ll be willing sellers on Endrick next year. We also think that the longer this season drags on, the more likely the player is to accept a permanent move to get his career up and going.

In that scenario, Liverpool must get interested. Endrick is a player who can work wonders for them and fill the void on the right flank with a great level of versatility to cover the forward line.
