There are indications that Liverpool aren’t done there either. Alexander Isak could arrive from Newcastle if certain conditions are met while Marc Guehi is a senior option wanted for centre-back.

In order to cover these signings however sporting director Richard Hughes has been busy conducting outgoing deals.

Bajcetic to join Liverpool's list of outgoings

Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez have helped the Merseysiders claw back plenty of money through their departures - while others such as Jarell Quansah, Ben Doak, Caoimhin Kelleher, Tyler Morton, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Nat Phillips have also left.

But more - including Harvey Elliott and Kostas Tsimikas could also be heading for the exit before the window closes. And it’s not just permanent departures that Liverpool are discussing.

There is a range of young players ready to head out on loan. Lewis Koumas is set for Birmingham City while Stefan Bajcetic has also been mooted as a potential outgoing.

Girona want Bajcetic

The 20-year-old spent last season out on loan with Red Bull Salzburg and Las Palmas and has been tipped to return to LaLiga for another season.

Former club Celta Vigo - as well as Valencia - have been previously associated with a move for the Spain under-21 midfielder but in recent days it’s emerged that Girona are the frontrunners.

Bajcetic missed almost the entirety of the 2023/24 season and had surgery at the end of the 2024/25 campaign and is reported to favour a move to Spain in order to get his career back on track.

A move to Spain is Bajcetic's priority

“Bajcetic's priority is clear: he wants to return to Spain,” reports Estadio Deportivo.

“The player, who began his career in Celta Vigo's youth system before making the leap to the Premier League, believes a return to La Liga would be the most appropriate step to relaunch his career after the break forced by fitness issues.”

Bacjetic has struggled to make an impact under Arne Slot during the Liverpool boss’s first year in charge. What he needs is regular minutes - and that is something that the Reds cannot offer right now.

With another season of football under his belt, Bajcetic could certainly bounce back and become a bonafide Liverpool midfield option in the future. He is under contract until 2027 having first joined Liverpool back in 2020 from Celta.
