From England, there is Chelsea and Manchester United. Overseas, Barcelona and Real Madrid are known to be keen. Also in the mix are Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
It’s been reported in local Argentina media in recent days that Marseille attempted to open talks on a whistlestop trip to Buenos Aires recently, being informed that the player and his entourage were waiting for Real Madrid.
Encouragingly, we've learned that if Mastantuono cannot reach the Bernabeu, then Liverpool are among the destinations he would consider.
Liverpool strongly considering Mastantuono bid
“He wants to play for Real Madrid,” reads a report in La Pagina Millonaria.
“Given his desire, he would be willing to listen to an offer from the White House and would only change his mind if an institution of the same caliber comes along, which could be Bayern Munich, Liverpool or Barcelona.”
There are also conflicting reports that the teen sensation has been “blacklisted” by Madrid owing to the conduct of his representatives.
Such talk could open doors to other suitors - with Caught Offside now reporting that the Reds are “seriously considering” a bid for Mastantuono.
“The Blues will likely face competition from the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid, who are also strongly considering making a move for the Argentine wonderkid,” reads a report detailing Chelsea’s interest.
Mastantuono has the world at his feet
Mastantuono has scored three times and added three assists for River this season in 10 matches - his latest assist coming on May 5 against Velez.
He is under contract until December 2026 at the Monumental and has currently got a release clause of €45 million in his contract.
All the reports around Mastantuono suggest River are in no mood to negotiate on the fee - although the club are hopeful of renewing his deal before the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
That, in turn, would raise Mastantuono’s salary as well as his buyout clause.
Capable of playing right wing or else in behind as a No10, Mastantuono is one of the most exciting prospects in world football.
