Liverpool are one of several top clubs fighting for the signature of one of the Championship's most talented stars this summer, but may have to fork out £45m for his services.

The Reds are facing an uncertain summer despite having seen Michael Edwards return and Richard Hughes appointed as the new sporting director, mainly due to the fact that Liverpool won't have Jurgen Klopp in the dugout next season.

His successor is yet to be announced despite Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim being the overwhelming favourite for the position, with Liverpool unable to finalise their transfer plans until an appointment is made.

However, the club is still busy up drawing up a shortlist of targets this summer, and they have not been shy in looking at the league below in their search for reinforcements.

LIVERPOOL TO RIVAL NEWCASTLE & MILAN FOR LEEDS UNITED STAR

Liverpool are expected to make a move for wingers in the coming transfer window and, according to FootballTransfers, Crysencio Summerville of Leeds United could be one of their targets.

Anfield Watch previously revealed that Liverpool were weighing up a move for the Dutch forward this summer, with Summerville having sparkled in the Championship.

However, FootballTransfers state that Leeds will offer the 22-year-old a 'bumper new deal' should the Yorkshire club achieve promotion to the Premier League, although there is no guarantee that he would agree to a contract extension.

Liverpool's interest is reportedly dependent on whether or not Luis Diaz or Mohamed Salah were to leave the club this summer, as well as who replaces Klopp at Anfield.

But Newcastle United are also keen on signing the promising attacker, who now has 18 goals and nine assists in all competitions from the left flank this term.

Milan are also showing interest in Summerville due to the fact that they expect Paris Saint-Germain to pursue their star forward Rafael Leao this summer after Kylian Mbappe's departure to Real Madrid.

Leeds are expected to demand at least £45m for the Dutch youth international, although that figure could change depending on the outcome of their promotion bid and the amount of suitors vying for Summerville's signature.

Summerville also impressed during his time in the Premier League last season and he would be an exciting signing for the future, despite not yet being at the level required to be a starting member of Liverpool's forward line.
