Liverpool have faced a large degree of disruption in defence during this off-season. Of course the club lost Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jarell Quansah - while there is uncertainty around Ibrahima Konate.

Over at left-back the situation has also changed with Milos Kerkez arriving in a £45m deal. The former Bournemouth defender is expected to eventually dislodge Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas to become Liverpool’s next long-term option in the position.

Robbo has been linked with a move out of the club and Atletico Madrid were one of the sides reported to be interested. Tsimikas, meanwhile, has got interest from around the Premier League as well as former club Olympiacos.

And one of the knock-on effects of Kerkez’s arrival is that it leaves Owen Beck uncertain of where he stands.

Owen Beck impresses out on loan

The 22-year-old Welshman had a stellar season on loan at Blackburn last season - and if Robbo AND Tsimikas are sold then he could be a dependable back-up for Kerkez.

But with previous interest from Rangers and Sheffield United reported, it now appears that Beck could be a target of newly-promoted Championship side Wrexham.

The Hollywood-owned club are putting together an ambitious project to launch themselves towards the Premier League and Beck is very much in their sights.

Wrexham want Owen Beck

That’s according to Nathan Salt on the Rob Ryan Red Podcast, in comments reported by the Wrexham Insider.

Phil Parkinson’s side have also got their eye on Barnsley’s Davis Keillor-Dunn. But the journalist adds that Beck remains the frontrunner - as a deal for Keillor-Dunn ought to have been concluded by now if they really wanted him instead.

“So Owen Beck, we mentioned that situation, that is the left-wing-back they would like,” he said.

“I’ve mentioned him a few times, Davis Keillor-Dunn. He increasingly looks closer and closer to going to Charlton, although I’m led to believe that Parky is still very much keeping tabs on that situation.

“My counter to that would be that they’ve known the price for a while £2.5m-£3m.

“If you really wanted to Davis Keillor-Dunn, you could have got that done by now.”

Beck has played three times for Liverpool’s first team - including in the Premier League - and has also enjoyed loan spells at Bolton, Dundee as well as Blackburn.

He is under contract until 2026 at Anfield - but could end up signing a new deal before going out on loan later this summer.
