Leeds ask Liverpool about deal for £30m title winner
The next phase of Liverpool’s transfer plan depends largely on outgoings. Almost £200m has now been lavished on Giorgi Mamardashvili, Jeremie Frimpong, Armin Pecsi and Florian Wirtz.
In order for sporting director Richard Hughes and head coach Arne Slot to sign the centre-forward and centre-back they require, sales are going to have to be made.

Tyler Morton and Harvey Elliott could end up bringing in significant transfer income - while Darwin Nunez is also scheduled to depart.
Leeds United ask about Joe Gomez
And two-time Premier League title winner Joe Gomez has also been suggested as a potential sale.
With the 28-year-old coming off the back of another injury-affected season - and with only two years left on his contract - he could be sacrificed in order to generate income.
The Reds listened to offers for the England man last summer - with Newcastle and Aston Villa said to be among his suitors - but he ultimately remained on Merseyside.
But now Leeds United have reportedly made an enquiry over the availability of Gomez, who according to the Guardian has a valuation of £30m this summer.
Newly-promoted Leeds are in the market for proven reinforcements but are set to be disappointed as Liverpool are in no mood for selling.
Gomez wants to stay at Liverpool
That’s according to a new report in Leeds United News, which claims Gomez has got one eye on breaking back into the first-team picture at Anfield.
“Joe Gomez has been the subject of enquiries from a host of teams and Leeds did ask, why wouldn’t they – he is an England international with so much Premier League experience who might be the on the market.” a report reads.
“Leeds have asked the question, I know that. However, Liverpool want Gomez to stay and he is happy battling for his place under Arne Slot. He is staying and he is happy on Merseyside.”

With uncertainty surrounding not only Quansah but Ibrahima Konate, Liverpool require a good stock of centre-backs.
It looks like Gomez may well be staying in order to provide depth - as well as cover in two full-back positions. Liverpool opted to send out several youth and fringe players on loan last season.
