Liverpool have "very good chance" of SENSATIONAL agreement for €100m forward
Liverpool are not standing still despite winning the Premier League title. Although Arne Slot was successful in delivering the crown in only his first season in charge, plans are in place to upgrade the squad.
We have already seen Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pecsi join the 20-time English champions and Florian Wirtz as well as Milos Kerkez will soon join them.

But don’t rule out a new forward.
Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota struggled to impress Arne Slot on a regular basis last season. Between them Liverpool’s striking options only hit 11 league goals.

Nunez has started just once in 2025 in the top flight while Jota’s injury troubles have been well-documented since he joined in 2020. If sporting director Richard Hughes can do deals for the pair, it could mean an extra £100m or so in the club’s coffers.
Liverpool want to ship Nunez out
Transfer links to Jota haven’t been as prominent as ones to Nunez although there is reportedly interest from Saudi Arabia.
Nunez, meanwhile, rejected the chance to join Al-Hilal - and is said to be holding out for European suitors. Napoli, AC Milan or Atletico Madrid could yet come forward with an offer for the £70m-rated Uruguay international.
And if Hughes manages to conduct a clearout, it leaves the pathway open for a new forward to arrive. Among the most prominent links for an Anfield arrival over the last few months has been Hugo Ekitike.
The Eintracht Frankfurt striker is coming off the back of a 22-goal season and is on the list for several European giants. The trail with Chelsea has gone rather cold in recent days - while Manchester United have also been linked.
Liverpool are in the race for Hugo Ekitike
Nonetheless Liverpool are confident of landing the 22-year-old Frenchman - but will need to ship Darwin out first.
That’s according to a new report from Sky Sport Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg - who claims Ekitike is aware that Liverpool are biding their time before a formal offer.
“Liverpool see themselves having a very good chance in the race for Hugo Ekitike,” Plettenberg wrote on X. “However, they have clearly signalled that they still need some time, as sales (including Darwin Nunez) need to happen first. Ekitike is aware of this.
“LFC Chelsea remain in the race. Manchester United have called Eintracht Frankfurt, as revealed. MUFC All three teams have received the same information: his price tag is €100m.”
Eintracht Frankfurt want €100m for Ekitike
Ekitike joined Frankfurt back in winter 2024 - initially on loan - and has reestablished himself as a top forward following a disappointing spell at Paris Saint-Germain.
Liverpool have been on his trail since his younger days at Stade Reims - and may finally get a chance to land him this summer.
