Liverpool's players are in demand right now. Another offer is incoming after Real Madrid's efforts to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The news broke on New Year's Eve that Real Madrid believe they can sign Trent Alexander-Arnold. That news came in the form of an offer - Los Blancos bid around £20m to sign him from Liverpool in January.

Now, Liverpool rejected that bid immediately and have no intentions of selling mid-season, even with Alexander-Arnold available to leave on a free transfer at the end of the campaign. The Reds clearly believe there's more to be gained from keeping the Scouser for the business end of the season.

Real Madrid, though, also believe there's more to gain from having Alexander-Arnold than there is from having £20m. It remains to be seen how much higher, if any, they're willing to go.

This isn't, however, the only decision Liverpool must make this winter. There's at least one other player hearing knocks on the exit door.

Federico Chiesa.

Federico Chiesa is a wanted man

Chiesa has struggled badly since arriving at Anfield. There have been fitness issues and Anfield Watch understands there are also issues with adapting to life at (and in) Liverpool.

That has the sharks circling, particularly in Italy. FirenzeViola writes that there are legitimate desires at Fiorentina to sign Chiesa in January and that such talk 'isn't just fairytales'.

Chiesa, of course, started his career with Fiorentina before moving to Juventus. He could well move back and it appears La Viola attempted to get a move done in the summer before he moved to Liverpool.

With his stock at an all-time low, Fiorentina see their chance. The next step will be throwing some sort of bid Anfield's way, be it permanently or on loan.

The big problem is that Chiesa's salary is far too high for Fiorentina to match. That would suggest a loan deal makes the most sense, giving Liverpool a chance to get some of his wage off the books.

But there's a long way to go on this one. Liverpool, though, should apparently anticipate an offer.
