Brilliant news for Liverpool as Fabrizio Romano confirms transfer is now 'LIKELY'
Fabrizio Romano confirms a player is 'likely' on the move in the next few weeks. It's absolutely brilliant news for Liverpool.
Liverpool are in need of reinforcements and Sunday proved that. The Reds started the match brilliantly but ended up looking incredibly short both at the back and up top.
Once Hugo Ekitiké went off, for instance, Liverpool had no natural replacement for him. Arne Slot instead opted for two attacking midfielders with a box midfield - essentially playing without a centre-forward.

That's why Liverpool are so eager to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United. He's an immediate fix for the squad and a truly elite one.
But that's not the only area with concerns. Liverpool are also incredibly short at centre-back after Jarell Quansah left for Bayer Leverkusen.
The Reds have not replaced him and Joe Gomez's latest injury means Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate are the sole senior centre-backs. A situation very reminiscent of 2020 and that was an absolute disaster.
It appears, though, that Liverpool may have a way to fix it.
Liverpool and Marc Guehi
Liverpool want to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. The captain has under one year remaining on his contract and should be available for a good price.
Chairman Steve Parish has now openly admitted they'll need to sell Guehi this summer if they can't renew his contract. Liverpool are considered to be overwhelming favourites to sign the centre-back if he does leave, per the Telegraph.
Weighing in, Fabrizio Romano says Guehi 'won't' sign a new deal with the Eagles and that an exit in the next 20 days before the transfer window closes is now 'likely'.
It all points to Liverpool, then. Guehi is a fantastic defender and a homegrown one, too - someone capable of playing a brilliant role for the Reds.
But it'll come down to price. Palace aren't going to sell Guehi for peanuts and thus far, finding a price both clubs agree on has been incredibly difficult.
The pressure will pile on Palace as time runs out, though. And all signs now point to something happening if Liverpool are willing to wait for that pressure to become untenable.
