Liverpool have a chance to sign Bryan Mbeumo this summer. Brentford have already admitted that.

Liverpool have had their eyes on Bryan Mbeumo for some time now. The forward has been fantastic for Brentford ever since joining there, really, but he’s been particularly special in 2024/25.

Mbeumo has 18 Premier League goals this season, having never previously managed more than nine. He’s added six assists to that tally, too, which matches his previous campaign.

And, of course, there are still three games to go.

Mbeumo has managed to catapult himself from being a really solid Premier League player to being one of the best forwards in the league. And Liverpool may just want to capitalise on that.

Now, the peak of the Reds’ interest came before Mo Salah renewed his contract. Mbeumo looked like one of the best-possible replacements but a replacement isn’t needed for now.

We don’t believe that should stop Liverpool from pushing forward, however. And the door is certainly open.

Bryan Mbeumo available to move

Thomas Frank has made it perfectly clear that Brentford are willing to sell Mbeumo this summer. It’s just going to take a lot of money.

"I know that Bryan is very happy being here at Brentford, he's thriving, doing well and playing fantastic,” he told Sky Sports. "What happens in the future? I don't know.

"I've said many times: we are a selling club. But at the same time we have to reinforce that there are 10 clubs in the world who aren't selling clubs.

"So, of course, if the right price - and that's going to be expensive - is coming, then I'm sure the club will be open for it. But I'm very happy he's here, and I'm convinced that Bryan will still be happy playing football here."

Liverpool do have a chance, then. There are plenty of targets (Alexander Isak being at the top of the list) who aren’t actually available and the Reds would need to do a lot of work to get to the table, let alone sign them.

But Brentford are willing to talk over Mbeumo and strike a deal. If Liverpool want to seriously boost their forward options for next season - and potentially give themselves Salah’s long-term replacement - it’s time to talk.
