Shock new club match city rivals in Mo Salah offer
Mohamed Salah is no longer a Liverpool player.
The 34-year-old reached an agreement to rip up his £400k per week contract one year early. Originally due to expire in 2027 the Egyptian King’s deal was instead curtailed on June 30.
Currently on his post-season break following Egypt’s FIFA World Cup elimination at the hands of Argentina Salah is making up his mind over his next move.
Saudi Pro League clubs have long been thought of as favourites to land the left-footed attacker’s signature. Al-Ittihad first tried for Salah back in 2023 - and could well dangle an impressive contract in front of him during the off-season.
Saudi and MLS clubs want Salah
Al-Ahli are also interested having cleared space in their squad via Riyad Mahrez’s departure.
MLS sides are also in the running - albeit working off a much smaller financial base. San Diego FC, Inter Miami and Sporting Kansas City have all got designs on recruiting Salah - with no final decision over his future yet made.
The player still considers himself capable of playing at the highest levels in Europe.
There will be offers from Europe
Roma and Juventus would be attractive destinations in Serie A - although meeting his contract demands would not be easy. Atletico Madrid meanwhile are reportedly keen on lining Salah up as Antoine Griezmann’s replacement.
There remains the possibility that Salah could end up in the Turkish Super Lig though. Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have long been considered suitors for the forward - with Fener’s proposal reportedly reaching €90m over the course of three years.
Now according to a report in Football Insider Besiktas are ready to crash the party and compete alongside their fellow Istanbul giants for Salah.
Besiktas join Fenerbahce and Galatasaray in Mo Salah chase
“The likes of Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas are all believed to be keen, but Salah is expected to delay any final decision over his future as he weighs up his options,” the report reads.
“While they are far from the only interested parties, Turkish clubs are now perparing to step up their interest with lucrative financial offers for the forward.
“The clubs have shown in recent windows that they are not afraid to spend big, and they now hope to lure Salah in with a big-money offer to beat off interest from elsewhere.”
Besiktas suffered a poor campaign last term - finishing fourth and a long way distant of top two Gala and Fener.
The club however have got big plans for next season under new head coach Vincenzo Italiano with Salah reportedly now among the targets.
