Another Liverpool legend will leave with Robertson and Salah on Sunday

There have been various reports over the last couple of months that Alisson Becker would be departing Liverpool at the end of the current season.

The Brazil No1 has been at Anfield since 2018 - winning plenty of team honours and cementing himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the game.

Liverpool shored up Alisson’s future by activating a one-year clause in his contract - which will now see him tied to the club until 2027. But that alone hasn’t prevented noise around a potential move to Juventus.

Alisson, 33, has been described as keen to return to Serie A and work with Luciano Spalletti - his coach when he played for Roma.

Alisson says yes to Juve - even with no Champions League football

Juve last weekend suffered a disastrous 2-0 defeat to Fiorentina at home - all but ending their hopes of Champions League football next season.

Even a win this weekend against Torino in the derby may not be enough to secure the points needed - leaving the Turin giants out of pocket to the tune of €55 to €60m.

But that blow won’t stop them chasing Alisson - with club bosses seeing the goalkeeper as a pivotal figure going forward.

And according to a report in Gazzetta dello Sport Alisson has given Juve his word that he still intends to join - even if they don’t make it into the Champions League.

Alisson is worried about the prospect of being replaced by Giorgi Mamardashvili - who has stepped in over the last few weeks while Alisson has been laid up with injury.

According to the report published in the Italian media Alisson intends to call a halt to his Liverpool career immediately following the final Premier League game of the season against Brentford this Sunday.

Sunday will be Alisson's last match for Liverpool

“The latest signs from the city of the Beatles are encouraging, with the Brazilian's entourage reaffirming to Juventus officials in recent days the player's firm belief: he wants to play for Juventus and will be ready to bid farewell to Anfield on Sunday at 5 p.m. on the final day of the Premier League season, against Brentford,” the report reads.

“In recent weeks, Alisson has carefully absorbed Juventus' motivations and appreciated the project that sees him at the center of a wave of charisma and experience—as well as quality—in a team that has lacked some key elements over the last two years.”

And with the FIFA World Cup kicking off in North America in around three weeks' time the report claims Alisson has instructed his people to have the deal with Juventus concluded before then.

“The player's agent is alerted and ready to take the helm of the operation, the goal being to get there before the pitch once again demands its due priority,” the report reads.

An agreement will still need to be reached between Liverpool and Juve for the legendary shotstopper.

But given his age, his high wage of a reported £210k per week as well as a long period of service for the Reds we may see Richard Hughes acquiesce to Alisson’s request for a move.
