Liverpool star's intentions confirmed as club turns down offers
Several high-profile exits are expected at Anfield this summer after a massively disappointing season.
12 months ago Liverpool were crowned Premier League champions, they then went on to spend over £400 million in the following transfer window and yet Arne Slot’s side have just finished fifth in the Premier League.
Some significant changes need to be made this summer and that will likely entail adjustments to training, new signing and potentially a change in some backroom staff.
A number of first-team players’ futures are still unclear at this point in the summer, but one has just made his intentions known after the club rejected a transfer approach for him.
Alisson intentions revealed after Juventus approach rebuffed
For weeks now there has been speculation over whether Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, will move on this summer.
Juventus are the club pushing hardest for the Brazilian, but the Reds are reluctant to let such a key player go in a window where they have already lost Mo Salah and Andy Robertson.
The 33-year-old is reportedly open to an exit but will not force a move away if the club do not want to sell him.
That’s according to a report from Football Insider which claims that Alisson will not engineer an Anfield exit despite concerns over his long-term future.
The club triggered an extension in his deal earlier in the season, but the shot stopper will become a free agent next summer as things stand.
Understandably, Alisson is seeking some reassurance about his future but isn’t willing to go as far as forcing his way out of the club if an extension cannot be agreed with Liverpool.
This update will no doubt reassure Arne Slot and the Anfield faithful, many of whom still view Alisson as the best ‘keeper in the league, but the same issue is set to arise next summer if nothing is done to tie the Brazilian down.
