One Liverpool star is set to say goodbye after almost a decade at the club.

It is very much coming to the end of an era at Liverpool. We are on the precipice of a huge change.

In the next two years, there is a strong likelihood that no one will remain from Jurgen Klopp's Champions League winning squad from 2019.

The last few who are still playing for Liverpool are all on the last few months of their contracts, or have expiring deals until 2027.

Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker, Andy Robertson, Mo Salah and Joe Gomez could easily move on either as free transfers or if Liverpool decide to sell them.

Salah and Gomez have been courted for a while. It will be up to Liverpool to decide whether they want to keep them around or cash in and try to make as much money as possible this summer.

Out of the aforementioned quintet, the likeliest to stay is Virgil van Dijk. Centre-backs have a longer shelf life and a longer peak.

Van Dijk is still going strong even though he's now approaching 35-years-old. Liverpool could easily extend his contract for a further year or two beyond 2027.

But while Van Dijk is the likeliest to stay, the likeliest to leave is Andy Robertson.

He was close to leaving the club in the January transfer window. Tottenham's offer did make Richard Hughes and co. ponder at the very least.

Ultimately, injuries to further key players meant Liverpool did not pursue the move. However, the fact that they did consider selling him was a massive hint about where their intentions lie when it comes to his contract extension.

Robertson's deal expires at the end of the season and it's now looking very unlikely that he will stay at the club beyond then.

Now Caught Offside's Ekrem Konur Robertson is preparing to say goodbye to Liverpool.

According to the report, the Reds are not actively pushing for the Scotsman's exit but that is looking the likeliest scenario at this stage.

Robertson is set to leave upon the expiry of his contract with the likeliest destination either being Celtic or Atletico Madrid, who was interested in his services last summer.

After close to a decade at the club, having spent nine years and won multiple major trophies, it will be an emotional goodbye for Robertson.

He is a player who has become more than just a key figure on the pitch. Robertson plays a massive role in the morale of the dressing room and he has become a beloved character.

Seeing him moving on and playing for another club will be an odd sight.
