Liverpool star now wanted by Real Madrid, it's not Alexis Mac Allister

Andoni Iraola still has a lot of work to do on his Liverpool squad.

Even though the Spaniard has only lost two games as the Reds' manager, it still feels like a lot more could come from him.

Last term, he managed to exceed expectations with Bournemouth and, most fans thought that he'd bring his heavy metal style of football to L4.

However, that evidently hasn't been the case with Liverpool failing to register a single shot on target against Arsenal on Sunday.

This poor form hasn't stopped clubs from showing an interest in the Reds' players with Real Madrid now monitoring a member of Liverpool's first-team squad.

Real Madrid are monitoring Victor Munoz ahead of a possible return

This summer, Liverpool spent over £150 million on new players.

Four new faces were added to the Reds' ranks and, even though Jeremy Jacquet's transfer was already confirmed back in January, he's still a new player for Liverpool to use.

And, even though he's been in fine form, it's not him who Real Madrid want, it's Victor Munoz.

"The club is keeping a close eye on all of them, and it is no secret that the two Como players are forcing their way into the conversation through their performances," Diario Sport wrote.

"Still, no firm decision has been made. Those in charge do not believe this is the right stage of the season to make such calls. A player’s form and confidence can change dramatically between now and the moment a return is actually considered.

"That was the case with Paz last season, when an apparently certain return to Madrid ultimately gave way to the player’s determination to remain at Como. Rafa Marín and Víctor Muñoz are among the other names still being monitored as possible returnees."

Liverpool cannot afford to let Victor Munoz leave

Over the last few years, Liverpool and Real Madrid have been fairly intertwined with one another.

Whether it's been Los Blancos prising Liverpool's players away for free or meeting them in the Champions League, their paths seem to have crossed on many occasions.

In fact, even with Munoz's transfer to Liverpool this summer, Real Madrid bagged a decent chunk of change from their sell-on clause which probably helped them pay Ibrahima Konate's signing fee.

And, even though the Spaniard may not have been Liverpool's best attacker this season, he's still played a very important role.

The £35 million that the Reds paid for Munoz was a steal and, right now, he's one of their best options on the right wing.

Here's hoping that Real Madrid don't put in an offer and end up turning their attention towards someone else.
