Liverpool prepare unbelievable wonderkid attack for new era

Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a sensational wonderkid attack. The Reds are banking on teenagers.

Liverpool know they've got the future on their left flank in Rio Ngumoha. In fact, they now need to be quite careful about who they sign in the position - blocking the teenager's progress would be an absolute disaster.

Instead, the focus should really be around who Ngumoha can develop alongside. Liverpool look set to handle that situation in the summer, with plenty of links to new forwards.

Not just any type of forward, either - they're considering very young players. Players who would be long-term partners up top for Ngumoha like Yan Diomande.

The Reds have consistently been linked with Diomande over the course of the season and the Ivorian is one of the most exciting teenage players around. He's only a couple of years older than Ngumoha and could conceivably play on the opposite flank to the Liverpool wonderkid.

Kroupi, 19, is another of the best teenage prospects going right now. His debut Premier League season has brought 10 goals and again, he's someone who could line up alongside Ngumoha.

Yan Diomande has been the revelation of the 2025–2026 Bundesliga campaign following his move to RB Leipzig from Leganés. As of April 13, 2026, the 19-year-old Ivorian winger has registered 12 goals and eight assists across 31 appearances in all competitions. His most recent contribution was the winning goal in a 1–0 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach on April 11. Known for his elite dribbling and explosive pace, Diomande ranks in the 95th percentile for progressive carries and the 92nd for successful dribbles. He also impressed on the international stage, scoring for Ivory Coast during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and a recent friendly against Scotland.

Transfer Saga and Liverpool Interest

Diomande is currently at the centre of a massive transfer battle, with RB Leipzig placing a €100 million valuation on the teenager. Liverpool has emerged as a primary suitor, reportedly viewing him as the ideal successor to Mohamed Salah, who is confirmed to depart Anfield this summer. On April 13, Diomande addressed the links to clubs like PSG, Chelsea, and Liverpool, stating that the interest gives him "even more motivation" while remaining focused on his current club. While Manchester United has reportedly submitted an opening bid and Arsenal remains in the mix, Leipzig is simultaneously attempting to negotiate a contract extension that would include a significant salary hike and a future release clause.
