Liverpool on course for sensational signing, 'strong interest'

Liverpool look completely on course to land a sensational signing. They reportedly retain a 'strong interest' in getting a deal done.

Liverpool are weighing up their transfer targets right now ahead of a massive 2027. That follows the massive 2026, which followed the massive 2027. That's the nature of trying to overhaul a squad - especially when you don't get it right the first two times.

But the Reds unquestionably need to invest further in their midfield. Their current options don't fit the bill adequately, with several attack-first midfielders and very little defensively.

Adding to that group with a more controlling midfielder would undoubtedly boost Andoni Iraola's options. There's simply no question about it and Liverpool appear to see things that way, too.

Now, we hoped the club would get that done in the summer but they ultimately chose not to. 2027, though? It looks nailed on.

Lamine Camara is the one

The Athletic have reiterated that Lamine Camara is the one for Liverpool. They report a 'strong interest' in the midfielder, who has started the season brilliantly with AS Monaco.

We're massive fans of the midfielder, who is one of the absolute standouts across the top leagues right now. He very nearly joined Chelsea, of course, but the transfer was cancelled at the deadline.

That was reportedly because Monaco and Camara believed a better deal could happen in 2027. Coincidentally, Liverpool let them know that they'd be entering the race next year, too.

Camara, then, appears to be the one. He's the pick to boost Liverpool's midfield and the player we've been hoping they'd sign, too.

That interest from Liverpool refuses to wane and we imagine it carries through to January. Maybe even next summer. And everything points to the Senegal star becoming the midfielder Liverpool are crying out for.
