Liverpool may have just confirmed their best move of the summer

Liverpool will probably have an entirely new-look team next season.

The Anfield outfit have performed extremely poorly this term with hardly any of their players meeting the standards expected of them.

Dominik Szoboszlai and Hugo Ekitike are the obvious exceptions to this, but, even with the amount of change that they need to go through, they need to keep at least some of their first-team squad to make the transition a bit easier.

That is, even though Liverpool are a sell-to-buy club, as was proven last summer.

Many changes are expected to be on their way but, one move that the Reds may have just confirmed could already be their most important of the campaign.

Alisson looks likely to say at Liverpool despite Juventus' interest

Even though Alisson only recently extended his Liverpool contract, Juventus have been tracking him for months.

In fact, there have even been reports of the Brazilian and Juventus already coming to an agreement on a contract.

Indeed, Liverpool would have Giorgi Mamardashvili to fill in the gap but, after his performances this term, it doesn't feel like the Georgian is quite ready for that responsibility yet.

And, even though most people believe that Alisson isn't going to be a Liverpool player next term, a fresh update from WinWin Sports says otherwise.

"A source close to Alisson told winwin: 'All indications are that he will stay at Liverpool, he is very happy at the club!'," they wrote.

"Thus ending the rumors that have surrounded the Brazilian goalkeeper's future in recent hours."

Liverpool keeping Alisson is more important than any other transfer

Alisson may be injury-prone but, when he's fit, he's one of Liverpool's best players.

The Brazilian has saved the Anfield outfit on more than one occasion with his performances sometimes single-handedly winning Liverpool games.

Indeed, Mamardashvili is still a good goalkeeper but, on his day, nobody expect from Thibaut Courtois can even get close to the performance levels that the former Roma ace can.

If the Reds still had Caoimhin Kelleher among their ranks, it would be a different story but, since they decided to move him on for a cut-rate fee last summer, Arne Slot no longer has that option.

There's no knowing how well the 2026-27 campaign will go for Liverpool but, if they manage to keep Alisson, they'll have a much better chance of improving their standing from this term.
