Liverpool lining up historic £70m transfer
Richard Hughes has a lot of work to do before he packs his bags and exits Anfield at the end of the summer transfer window.
The Englishman is expected to join Al-Hilal and become their sporting director before the 2026-27 season even fully kicks off.
At the moment, he's only got one deal over the line but, since three of the Reds' regular starters have already been moved on, there's still a lot more work for them to do.
And, now that the World Cup is almost over with, players will be focusing on the next steps in their career, rather than the tournament.
This is good news for Liverpool as it means that they can get some deals ready to be taken over the line and potentially cast their net even further.
Liverpool want to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Everton
One of the main areas that Liverpool nee to upgrade this summer is their attack.
Without Mohamed Salah leading the way, it's unclear who's going to be the Reds' first-choice right-winger.
Victor Munoz, Federico Chiesa and Jeremie Frimpong can all be used there if needed but, they're not really world-class options and they certainly don't scream Champions League winners.
So, if they don't sign a new attacker soon, they could be in a rather terrible position.
This is why links with new forwards are being shared almost every day and why this latest update from TEAMtalk is one that should pique the interest of Liverpool's fanbase.
"Liverpool are hopeful, in return, that PSG’s pursuit of Diomande could eventually pave the way for Bradley Barcola to leave the Parc des Princes, with the France international viewed internally as one of the standout candidates to lead the club’s next generation in attack," they wrote.
"However, the Premier League champions are ensuring they have multiple alternatives in place.
"Several names have already been linked, including Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh, Cologne’s Said El Mala, Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye."
Liverpool signing Iliman Ndiaye would be a historic signing
Iliman Ndiaye is easily one of Everton's best players.
Last season alone, the Senegal international contributed to nine goals for the Toffees and, no matter which wing he was used on, he always stood out ahead of his teammates.
Of course, the last transfer between Everton and Liverpool was Abel Xavier back in 2002 so, a deal would certainly be hard to agree upon with the Friedkin's probably adding at least an extra £10 million onto their asking price for Liverpool.
However, his blistering speed coupled with his keen eye for goal are both things that would make him a solid acquisition for the Reds.
His Premier League experience is also massively beneficial and, even though the Toffees are wanting around £70 million to prise him away from the Hill Dickinson, it would definitely be money well spent.
That is, even if it was just to annoy Liverpool's arch-rivals this summer.
