I'm of course talking in reference to one of the Reds' academy talents that is being rumoured of a departure for this season, although only loan moves are really being considered at this stage.

Talents such as James McConnell are highly regarded by Arne Slot and now that their injury concerns have been brushed aside, we can concentrate on getting them first-team experience.

McConnell's hopes of a loan are back on track

According to Lewis Bower, a journalist that focuses predominantly on Liverpool's youth system, the 20-year-old midfielder is no long being hampered by a minor issue he picked up during pre-season.

He was pictured in first-team training alongside Slot in Thursday's afternoon session and he is likely to be sent out to a club in the Championship or lower down the English football pyramid for minutes.

The notion that he might be given a loan move isn't really anything new. We assumed he was being considered for one last week when he was absent from the U21s opening fixture against Leicester.

However, his injury could have been an obstacle for getting him the opportunity he needs to develop.

Now that everything is cleared, but we'll hopefully have an agreement in place for him to go somewhere over the next week before the transfer deadline day arrives on September 1.

According to the Lewis Steele at the Daily Mail, he's wanted by Championship clubs, notably West Bromwich Albion, Oxford United and Hull City, with Liverpool having already established a positive relationship with the latter club, as Fabio Carvalho and Tyler Morton were previously loaned there.

If and when his opportunity comes around, we wish him the very best of luck for the season ahead.
