Time's up: LEGENDARY Liverpool figure must return

Time is up and Liverpool need a legendary figure to return to the team. This simply isn't good enough.

Liverpool sunk to a fourth consecutive defeat on Sunday as Manchester United won 2-1 at Anfield. It's a massive blow and one that creates a sense of full-on panic-mode at the club.

The Reds spent an incredible amount to 'improve' a title-winning team, after all. They twice broke their transfer record, as well as spending more at each full-back position than they've ever spent before.

And yet Crystal Palace, Galatasaray, Chelsea and United have now turned them over on the bounce. Even worse, the performances have not been good, usually taking second-half substitutions to fix things.

Now, Liverpool need to correct things and that means making some difficult changes. One of them is obvious - it's time for a proper winner to return.

Andy Robertson must come back in

It has been clear for a while that Andy Robertson should come back in at left-back. Liverpool would be better off for it, simply by how much better they progress the ball with him in the team.

The defeat against United, though, made it abundantly clear. Milos Kerkez struggled badly, both with his touch going forward and his defensive decisions.

He was out of line with the rest of the defence, misplacing passes, and simply doesn’t appear to know when he should get forward. Kerkez was signed to be a blistering attacking full-back who bombs on and disrupts opposition defences - we’re seeing none of that.

Instead, Liverpool look worse defensively and with fewer ideas in possession. Robertson was the second-best progressive passer at the club last season after Trent Alexander-Arnold. Now the Reds are without either as they try and make the Kerkez experiment work.

Now, this isn’t to say that Kerkez should be dropped and considered a flop. He’s still a very young player and one who has a bright future

But for now? Robertson is the better option and the one who offers more. Getting his experience, leadership and quality into the team is far more valuable than developing Kerkez right now.
