Liverpool FC Injuries and Possible Return Dates

The Reds have slowly seen the likes of Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk return to the current squad. However, Liverpool are yet to play 12 Premier League games amid the international break. Here are some players likely to miss some of these games.

Darwin Nunez

Darwin Nunez picked up an ankle injury on March 15th, playing against Real Madrid. The 23-year-old Uruguayan had to be subbed off 57 minutes into the game and is currently being monitored. This injury has resulted in Nunez withdrawing from Uruguay's friendlies against Japan and South Korea. Klopp admitted the striker's injury and is yet to confirm his return, even though he hinted at an April comeback.

Stefan Bajcetic

Bajcetic was a mainstay in Liverpool's midfield until he picked up an adductor injury against Bournemouth. The Spanish footballer has featured on the Reds' XI nine times. Bajcetic admitted to having an injury that will see him out for a few months. According to Klopp, the 18-year-old has a serious injury and will, unfortunately, miss the remainder of the season. Though Bajcetic is optimistic that he will overcome this and become stronger, his possible return date is yet to be announced.

Thiago Alcantara

Thiago Alcantara injured himself while playing against Wolves on February 7th. The 31-year-old suffered a serious muscle injury that could see him out for over a month. The midfielder has been battling a hip injury and is yet to resume training. Thiago's possible return date is unknown, but he won't be featuring against Bournemouth and Real Madrid.

Luis Diaz

Luis Diaz has been out after picking up a knee injury against Arsenal on October 9th, 2022. The 26-year-old forward had been quite instrumental at the start of the league, and his absence from the starting XI has been costly. Though he was set to return in early December, Diaz underwent knee surgery after training in Dubai's camp.

The Columbian is currently fit and was to resume in mid-March. However, Klopp is cautious and suggested that Diaz will return after the international break. Diaz is set to return on April 1st and could play against Man City.

Calvin Ramsay

Liverpool's full-back Calvin Ramsay picked up a knee injury in late January that will sadly see him miss the remainder of the season. Though he has only featured once on the team's starting XI, Ramsay's absence can be noticed.

The Scottish international underwent surgery in mid-February and is in recovery. Though Ramsay could return earlier, Klopp is cautious and will want tp build him up physically before including him in the Reds' squad.
