Liverpool ready to spend £100m on ANOTHER star after Florian Wirtz

We're only just starting to get excited about Florian Wirtz but Liverpool are already planning to make another £100m transfer.

The Reds are closing in on a deal to sign the German international. However, he might not be the only £100m player coming to Anfield this summer.

Richard Hughes has lofty ambitions to rebuild the Premier League champions and tailor it more fitting to how Arne Slot wants the Reds to play.

This means a summer clear-out is expected. Just as Anfield Watch exclusively revealed back in January. It means the likes of Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez could all be sold for the right price.

And as they leave, Liverpool expect to bring in a plethora of new players. Among them will be Jeremie Frimpong and now it looks like Wirtz as well.

Those two alone would make this one of the most exciting transfer periods for the Reds. But the transfer window hasn't even opened yet and Liverpool are planning even more moves.

It's been very clear that one of the objectives for Hughes this summer is to buy a no.9. Liverpool need to replace Nunez and find a permanent solution upfront.

Wirtz could offer an answer to that question because he is capable of playing as a false nine. However, he isn't the only attacker Liverpool are considering.

According to Rousing the Kop, Liverpool are ready to spend money on Alexander Isak as well as Wirtz this summer with the Reds having enough funds to sign both players.

Isak is valued in excess of £100m by Newcastle. He's an incredible player who has been one of the best in the league this season.

It remains to be seen whether there is a deal to be had. Much may hinge on where Newcastle finish at the end of the Premier League season.

But the point is that the Reds would be ready to spend the money should the opportunity arise.

Anfield Watch understands there is truth to this report. Although Isak is not the only player Liverpool would be willing to spend that money on.

As we revealed exclusively Liverpool wanted to sign Julian Alvarez last summer and would be willing to break their transfer record to bring him to the club this summer.

There's also the possibility of Nunez going in the other direction to Atletico Madrid.

Alvarez is regarded as the perfect no.9 option for Slot. He's both a facilitator and a goal-scorer and already has close ties in the Liverpool squad with the likes of Alexis Mac Allister.

The fact that he's proven himself in the Premier League is a huge bonus. The prospect of him linking up with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Wirtz is mouthwatering.

Not to mention Alvarez is a key face of adidas, just like Wirtz and Salah, and with Liverpool having a new kit deal in place with the German sports manufacturing company, the marketing potential will be enormous.

It's why Liverpool are confident they have the means to pull both deals off. Whether Isak or Alvarez, the Reds will not stop at merely Wirtz.
