Ibrahima Konate won his first title with Liverpool against Chelsea in the League Cup on Sunday and the Frenchman has said how he was feeling after the game.

Liverpool won their first trophy of the season on Sunday against Chelsea, putting themselves one League Cup ahead of Manchester City who tied Liverpool's record last season.

It was the first trophy for a lot of players at Liverpool, one of those players being the Reds' only summer signing, Ibou Konate.

Speaking to Liverpool FC about his experience at Wembley, the 22-year-old seemed very happy to win the Carabao Cup.

“I think if I start to speak about this, we will not stop!

“It was an unreal, unbelievable weekend for me. My first title in professional football and with Liverpool, it was amazing and great. I was very, very happy," said Konate.

"I’m happy today also that we have a lot of important games. We have to, not forget, but you have to put this [the final] to one side and we have to keep going for the rest of the season.

"When you play it’s more unbelievable for me. I don’t have the words to describe this moment but I hope I will have a lot of moments like that with the club.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Even though Konate only played the 30 minutes of extra time in the final, his penalty conversion in a very high-pressure situation helped the Reds claim their ninth EFL title.

Even though he hasn't been a starter with Liverpool this season, he possesses the quality to become a world-class centre-back in the future and the thought of him and Virgil van Dijk starting 40+ games a season together must be a frightening proposition for opposition forwards.

The Frenchman is going to be a superstar in a Liverpool shirt and we're sure that he will win a lot more trophies with the Reds in the future!
