A world-class winger reportedly prefers a move to Liverpool.

Liverpool are facing a crucial summer in the transfer market, and strengthening the wide attacking positions has to be one of the club's biggest priorities.

The most obvious challenge is replacing Mohamed Salah. For years, he has been the driving force behind Liverpool's attack, consistently delivering goals, assists and match-winning moments. His departure leaves an enormous gap on the right flank, both in terms of quality and reliability.

Finding a direct replacement for a player of Salah's calibre is never easy, but Liverpool cannot afford to stand still. Losing such an influential figure would be difficult for any club, and it only highlights an issue that already existed within the squad.

The Reds were arguably short of options in the wide areas long before Salah's exit. The decision to sell Luis Diaz last summer without bringing in a suitable replacement left the squad lacking depth and balance.

Throughout the season, Liverpool have often found themselves relying on players operating out of position or turning to makeshift solutions whenever Salah or Cody Gakpo have been unavailable.

That lack of depth has had a noticeable impact on the team's performances. Too often, Liverpool's attack has looked predictable, with little variety or genuine pace in the wide areas.

Opponents have found it easier to stay compact, knowing the Reds lacked the natural width needed to stretch defences consistently.

The result has been an attack that sometimes struggles to create space and isolate defenders in one-on-one situations. If Liverpool want to return to their best, adding quality wide attackers this summer will be absolutely essential.

That's why signing wingers - and more than one of them - has to be Liverpool's next major priority.

Replacing Mohamed Salah alone is a huge task, but the Reds' problems in the wide areas go beyond that. Liverpool need at least two high-quality additions who can bring pace, creativity and genuine attacking threat to both flanks. They need players capable of producing goals and assists consistently while also giving the team the dynamism that has been missing at times in recent seasons.

Of course, Liverpool cannot simply throw money at the problem. While the club remains in a healthy financial position despite spending heavily last summer, resources are not unlimited.

The Reds invested around Β£450 million in the squad and balanced some of that out through player sales, but there are still several areas of the team that require attention.

With reinforcements needed across the pitch, Liverpool's recruitment team will have to be smart about how they allocate their budget. Every signing will need to offer value, and the club will have to carefully weigh up where its biggest priorities lie.

That could mean a shift away from the blockbuster signings that dominated headlines last summer.

Rather than spending huge sums on players like Alexander Isak or Florian Wirtz, Liverpool may return to the recruitment model that has served them so well in the past: identifying talented players before their value explodes and securing them at the right price.

When it comes to strengthening the wings, there is one standout candidate who fits that profile perfectly. Better still, he seemingly prefers a move to Anfield.

Yan Diomande is the only world-class right-winger available on the market this summer. He may not be a blockbuster name like Wirtz and Isak, but he has the potential to be one of the best players in the world.

And according to Ekrem Konur, he prefers a move to Anfield this summer over Paris Saint Germain.

We are talking about a PSG side that just won the Champions League twice in a row. Yet Diomande prefers a move to Liverpool.

That is incredibly exciting.
