Liverpool need to improve as soon as possible.

Although most teams are expected to go through ruts at some point in the season, nobody expected Liverpool's to carry on for this long.

Arne Slot's men were expected to take a couple of months to gel before they set the world alight with their talent.

However, that has evidently not been the case and now, questions are being asked about whether the Anfield outfit have the right players among their ranks to lead them to the Premier League and Champions League title.

These have led to the transfer rumour mill going into overdrive with several members of Slot's squad now being put on the chopping block.

One thing that has been made clear this season is that Liverpool need to add some life back into their attack.

Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and even Alexander Isak have performed below expectations this term which is rather concerning.

Whether that's because of the change in system or a lack of confidence, it's clear that something needs to change.

And, as per an update from transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, change is almost certainly on the way.

"For Liverpool, I think it’s going to be a busy summer for wingers. It’s very clear that Liverpool need to reinforce their wingers - the situation with Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo. I think in general, Liverpool need to add something fresh in that position." he said via his YouTube channel.

“But at the moment, on Michael Olise, it’s a similar situation to Vitinha and Real Madrid. You can appreciate the player, he is one of the best in the world in his position, but Bayern have no intention at all to let him go.

"Bayern are very happy with Olise and Bayern don’t even want to negotiate.

"Liverpool appreciate Olise, yes for sure, but who doesn’t appreciate Olise? At the moment, that’s the story.

"Bayern are very happy with the boy, there is no release clause in his contract now, and so the situation remains under control for Bayern. I think the realistic targets for Liverpool will be others."

Liverpool fans should be excited about the change that is set to come their way

Even though many things changed at Anfield last summer, it's clear that more is on the way.

In fact, since Isak and Giovanni Leoni have been out injured for most of the campaign, they'll be like new signings themselves.

So, the fact that several new faces could still be brought in is an exciting prospect to say the least.

Moves for world-class talent such as Yan Diomande and Michael Olise could become a reality with deals for others such as Mateus Mane potentially not too far out of reach either.

It's still early days and, since things change in football all the time, there's obviously no guarantees that anything even gets over the line.

However, the fact that Romano expects there to be change has to mean something.
