Door wide OPEN for Richard Hughes to complete dream midfielder transfer
The Reds need to add another midfielder to the squad before the beginning of next season.
This is not up for debate. Over the last two years Liverpool have tried and failed to reinforce one key area of their midfield - the holding midfield position.

First it was Moises Caicedo. But that move fell apart with Chelsea winning the race for his signature. Then Liverpool tried Martin Zubimendi, again to no avail.
Richard Hughes cannot afford to make the same mistake again and it won't be hard for Liverpool to find the right midfielder.
Unlike, over the last two summer windows when options were scarce, the holding midfielder market has opened up. There are now countless options for Liverpool to complete a move they have been dreaming of for two years now.
Among the candidates, one player stands out from the rest and it seems like the doors have now opened for him to move to the Reds.

The player we are talking about is Lamine Camara. We wrote about him as the perfect Martin Zubimendi alternative several months ago.
At AS Monaco, the Senegalese international, who came through the same academy as Sadio Mane, has continued to impress.
One of the reasons why Camara is the perfect option is because he brings about control in possession. He is a player who is very decision in his passing and deals with pressure very effectively.
At the same time, he is defensively very solid as well. He wins a high volume of duels and reads the game really well which means he can reprise possession for his team time and time again.
He's essentially another Ryan Gravenberch, which is what Arne Slot needs.
And now the doors have really opened for Liverpool to make their move. Previously, having only joined Monaco last summer, Camara moving on so soon might have been out of the question.
But Ligue 1 are currently struggling financially with the biggest internationally broadcaster currently holding the rights for matches DAZN pulling out of a multi million deal that is going to significantly cut the funds clubs receive from broadcast revenue in the coming years as per Insider Sport.
This uncertainty over the league's future opens up the possibility for some clubs to be forced into selling their prized assets. Monaco could be among them, with really only Paris Saint Germain unlikely to be impacted by the collapse of this DAZN deal.
For Liverpool, this is an opportunity to swoop in for Camara this summer and bring him to Anfield.

He would be a dream signing and someone who could fix a void in the squad Hughes and his predecessors have been trying to fill for years.
