Liverpool have already been linked with a whole host of players this summer.

The Anfield outfit were expected to have changed their team completely by now with several new players needing to be brought in.

However, since only two new players have been added to Andoni Iraola's first-team squad so far, Liverpool clearly need to get themselves into gear and get some deals over the line soon.

As mentioned, most areas of the Reds' squad need upgrading but, at the moment, it doesn't feel like any deals are close to completion.

Of course, some moves have been more reported on than others but, at the moment, it's unclear whether any more moves will actually be agreed upon.

However, this recent update that has just emerged from Anfield seems like it could be music to the Reds' ears.

Barcelona are now waiting for Paris Saint-Germain to make their bid for Ferran Torres

This summer, the transfer market has been rather inflated and busy.

Almost every single club in the world have tried to sign new players to improve their ranks but, of the lot, it feels like Liverpool have been linked with the most.

As mentioned, several areas among the Reds' squad need bolstering and, without transfers being made, there's no way that the Anfield outfit will do any better this time around.

Of course, if players such as Alexander Isak or Florian Wirtz managed to meet expectations, that would go a long way towards the Reds' improvement.

But, in reality, it's clear that more change is needed.

So, this latest update about the attacker market this summer that has been shared by Sky Sports journalist Luca Bendoni is certainly a tad worrying.

"FC Barcelona are waiting for PSG to make an official offer soon for Ferran Torres," he wrote.

"Luis Enrique has a clear plan to add Ferran to his system alongside Dembelé, Kvara & Co. Official talks to start soon as next step in the deal we exclusively revealed earlier."

Ferran Torres is one of the many players that Liverpool have eyed for a potential move

Now that Mohamed Salah is gone, there's a massive gap in Liverpool's attack that needs to be filled.

Iraola obviously already has several options at his disposal that he could end up using but, if they want to get back to the top of the table and start dominating again, they need world class options to choose from.

Liverpool are one of the most well-known teams in the world so, the fact that they finished fifth in the Premier League last season is just unacceptable.

That's why fans have demanded that change is made and, if it isn't, some serious questions will need to be asked.

Ferran Torres is just one of many attackers that Liverpool have been linked with so, missing out on him wouldn't necesarily be the end of the world.

In fact, it would actually boost the Reds' chances of signing Bradley Barcola. However, if PSG don't make their move, it would probably mean that Barcola is staying put and Liverpool would miss out on yet another one of their priority targets.

There's now around a month left of the summer transfer window and, unless Richard Hughes gets a move on, the 2026-27 window could end up being one of Liverpool's worst in recent memory.
