Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain certain to leave Reds

Liverpool midfielder Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain is "certain" to leave Liverpool either in the January transfer window or at the end of the season when his contract officially expires.

The 29-year-old, who has only played 10 games for the Reds all season, is set to end his 7-year spell with the club, according to a report from the Daily Mail's Sami Mokbel, who reports that the midfielder is undecided about whether to leave the club in the January transfer window or leave in the summer as a free agent.

A VALUABLE SERVANT TO REDS

The Premier League interest is growing in Oxlade-Chamberlain, but he is unsure whether he should move now or wait until the summer to help Liverpool finish the current season. Ever since joining from Arsenal for £35 million in the 2017-18 season, the midfielder has been part of Liverpool's recent successes in the Champions League and helping the club to lift the Premier League title. He has been an excellent servant, and his stunning goal against Manchester City at Anfield in the Champions League will always be remembered by Reds fans, even if he is not usually the first name on the team-sheet, or playing as frequently as he would have liked.

But it is understandable that Liverpool need fresh faces in their squad, and Oxlade Chamberlain believes that even at 29, he can still offer any side his qualities.

Will you be sad to see Alex leave Reds fans?

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

It is not surprising to me that Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain is set to leave Liverpool. Despite many eyebrows being raised when Klopp paid Arsenal £35m to sign him, Ox won over Liverpool fans with some top performances, and will leave the Reds as a Premier League winner and Champions League winner. But if he does decide to leave in January rather than the summer, will that make the Reds go in for a midfielder which they desperately need?
