Last season, the Reds only just managed to beat them thanks to a 92nd-minute winner from Virgil van Dijk.

This time around, Andoni Iraola will probably be hoping for a much better performance so that he can prove his team are finally getting on board with his style of play.

Indeed, the outcome of Wednesday's tie will depend on which version of Liverpool shows up but, if their best levels come out, there should be no stopping them.

Many changes have already been made to Liverpool's first-team squad since Arne Slot's exit and now, a record-breaking attacker could be about to be given his chance to make his name on the big stage.

Jayden Danns was spotted with Liverpool's first-team squad

This season, it feels like Iraola is going to rely on Liverpool's youngsters an awful lot.

The Anfield outfit may have brought four new players through the doors over the summer but, with there still being a few gaping holes in the Reds' squad, it's hardly a surprise to see some of their youngster's being called up.

Indeed, some, such as Isaac Mabaya are just emergency options in case all else fails but, after the latest pictures to emerge from L4, it seems like Jayden Danns could be about to play a rather prominent role.

Jayden Danns is Alexander Isak's back-up until Hugo Ekitike returns from injury

Obviously, now that Bradley Barcola has joined Liverpool, the Reds have one of the best attacks in the world.

Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Barcola, Florian Wirtz and Cody Gakpo are just some of the players that Iraola has at his disposal.

However, with the injuries that plagued players such as Ekitike last term, there are still a couple of gaps among their ranks until they return.

So, that's why players such as Lewis Koumas and Danns are likely to be given regular roles by Iraola.

Obviously, they aren't going to play two games per week unless they're forced to but, the fact that the Spaniard has enough trust in them to include the record-breaking duo in his plans for now, proves how good they actually are.

And, with Ekitike side-lined due to injury, there really isn't a better time for Danns to make his mark than now.

Here's hoping that, if he is given a chance to feature against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night that he proves his worth.
