Liverpool still have a little bit of time left to get any final deals that they want to over the line.

Several new faces have been brought through the Anfield doors and, while all of these additions will improve the Reds in one way or another, more still needs to be done before Liverpool are ready to be classed as serious title contenders again.

Andoni Iraola will have joined Liverpool to try and take a step up in the footballing world but, at this rate, it feels like he could end up behind Bournemouth.

On paper, the Anfield outfit's players are much better but, since their squad still isn't finalised, it's hard to judge where they'll be and whether they have enough to make it back to the top.

Transfers are going to be the best way for them to solve this but, since clubs are still eyeing moves for their players this summer, they could end up in a bit of a pickle, especially now we're entering the final few hours of the transfer window.

Schalke now want to sign Jayden Danns from Liverpool

Liverpool's academy has always been seen as one of the best in the world.

Players such as Steven Gerrard have even become Premier League legends after making their way through the Reds' ranks.

Recently, some of Liverpool's best academy graduates such as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones have chosen to pack their bags and leave which has hurt the Anfield outfit quite a lot.

Indeed, replacements have already been found for them both but, if given the choice between them or the new players Liverpool have signed, fans would more than likely go for those who have exited, rather than those that they currently have.

However, within Liverpool's current crop of academy graduates, there are some exceptional talents and, even though the Reds' squad depth is rather thin, there's just not room for all of them to feature.

So, that's why this latest update from journalist Lewis Bower about Jayden Danns' future is important.

While quoting a post from X about Danns attracting interest from many different clubs over a loan deal, Bower shared an insight into the move and claimed that Schalke could be a potential destination for the Englishman.

"Schalke might be one," he wrote.

Jayden Danns could do with a season of experience under his belt before playing for Liverpool

From the few games that Danns has featured in for Liverpool, it's clear that he's an extremely talented player.

The striker is only 20 years old and, if it wasn't for the injuries that he's suffered, he'd probably be a fully-fledged first-teamer by now.

Arne Slot and Jurgen Klopp both rated the striker highly and, even after his return from injury, his electric pace is still frightening.

Throughout his career thus far, the Englishman has more than proven that he has a keen eye for goal as he's managed to score 34 goals in just 63 games.

If the striker can keep fit, he'd be an exceptional addition for any team that he chooses to join.

And, for Liverpool, seeing him actually complete an entire season of football with regular playing time is exactly what they'll want to happen.

In the past, Schalke have been one of the world's best teams and, now that they're back in the Bundesliga and have Edin Dzeko leading their attack, there doesn't really feel like a better place for Danns to go and prove his worth.
