Liverpool may receive a windfall of cash shortly. A massive sale may happen within a couple of days.

Liverpool are looking to spend an incredible amount of money this summer. More than they've ever spent, in fact, and by quite some way.

Deals for Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pecsi are wrapped up but that's far from the main event here. Florian Wirtz is that main event - a €150m deal is near.

Then there's Milos Kerkez, too, who might arrive from Bournemouth for around £45m. How about a centre-forward? The Reds supposedly want one of those.

We might even see a new centre-back show up if Ibrahima Konate doesn't agree on a new contract. The point is, then, that Liverpool risk spending all they have - sales are required here.

And it appears some massive ones may be on the horizon.

Liverpool near potential mega-sale

Foot Mercato reports that Al-Hilal have both Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz on their shortlist. The Saudi Pro League side hope to bring in a star forward ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.

The deadline to do so, however, is on the 10th. They essentially need to make a deal happen today or tomorrow.

Now, their interest in Nunez is longstanding. Anfield Watch revealed back in January that there was an offer on the table, though Liverpool (not Nunez) rejected it.

That interest never went away, however. The Uruguayan remains in their sights, but far from the only target.

Diaz is also there, even if Al-Nassr have been more heavily linked with the forward. Viktor Gyokeres is another, as are Jadon Sancho and Son Heung-min.

But again, if anything is to happen, it'll have to be quick and that almost certainly guarantees a major fee here. The elite Saudi sides aren't exactly shy to spend anyway, let alone up against a time limit and with little negotiating power.

The offer for Nunez back in January was around £70m. We imagine it would be something similar this time around.

Nunez may even be their primary target here given he did accept to join them in principle last January. They know he's open to a move - with little time left to sway players, that counts for an awful lot.
