Warren Zaire-Emery could be closer to a move to Liverpool with a PSG coach arriving at the club.

Last year Anfield Watch exclusively revealed that the French midfielder is on the club's radar. Liverpool scouts are huge admirers of Zaire-Emery.

This is unlikely to change any time soon. Even though he has been playing a lot of games out of position this season, Zaire-Emery is still regarded as one of the best young midfielders in Europe.

At just 19-years-old, he has over 150 appearances for Paris Saint Germain and can already count himself a Champions League winner, as well as a regular at international level for France. \

Liverpool were eyeing up a move for him last year and that's unlikely to have changed given the uncertainty that surrounds Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch at the club.

Liverpool's midfield quartet are yet to extend their contracts even though they have been in discussions since the start of the current season.

For Jones, it's even longer than that and his contract has just 18 months left on it, making his situation an even more precarious one.

It's also important to note, Mac Allister and Szoboszlai are both highly valued by Real Madrid and they are on the Spanish giants' radar.

So, Liverpool may need to reinforce their midfield department in the coming years and while it looks like Zaire-Emery may be difficult to poach from Paris Saint Germain, especially since he is an academy product, who has a contract with the club until 2029, you just can't rule it out.

Zaire-Emery has a lot of competition to play in his preferred midfield role at PSG. He's also 19-years-old. There may come a time in his career when he is seeking a new challenge.

When that time comes, Liverpool may be the most well-placed team to sign him. Especially, after the latest update which saw the Reds recruit Zaire-Emery's former youth coach.

Bafode Diakhaby joined Liverpool as a Youth Player Development coach earlier this year and he's someone who played a key role in Zaire-Emery's development.

Diakhaby had previously also praised Zaire-Emery for his maturity in an interview with Culture PSG.

"Some players are moved up an age group because they are very precocious with superior abilities and strong mental maturity, like Warren Zaïre Emery for example," Diakhaby said.

So, now there's an advocate not only in the scouting and recruitment department in favour of Zaire-Emery at Liverpool but also in the coaching department as well.

It means that this transfer could very well still be on.
