"This guy has got world-class skills" - Dani Alves praises Liverpool defender

Barcelona defender Dani Alves has recently praised Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Scouser made his first-team debut for the Reds back in 2016. Since then, Alexander-Arnold has improved rapidly.

The 23-year-old is a defender by trade. But, Alexander-Arnold is very good going forward. In fact, he is an extra attacker out on the football pitch.

The right-back has scored 12 goals and registered 60 assists in 214 appearances for Liverpool's senior XI.

Alves is certainly a fan of what Alexander-Arnold brings to a game of football. The 38-year-old said that the Scouser possesses some "world-class skills".

As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Alves told FourFourTwo the following: “I admire Trent Alexander-Arnold very much. He’s a fantastic footballer - this guy has got world-class skills.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Alves is spot on in his assessment of Alexander-Arnold. The aforementioned figures back up that particular argument.

The exciting thing about Alexander-Arnold is that he is only 23 years of age. With that being the case, it would be fair to assume that the right-back still has plenty of room left for improvement.

Also, due to how young Alexander-Arnold is, he certainly has plenty of time left in his career to add to his trophy collection. The Scouser has already won five major trophies with Liverpool's first-team.

However, nothing is ever guaranteed in football. Alexander-Arnold will have to work hard to progress his career. But, we don't see that being an issue.

Alexander-Arnold is playing for his boyhood club, so motivation should never be a problem for him.

We look forward to seeing how the remainder of his career plays out. Looking to the short-term, hopefully Alexander-Arnold can finish the season strongly and propel Liverpool towards a trophy or two.
