But right now, there is serious doubt over Liverpool's chances of signing Alexander Isak. It just doesn't quite look like they are going to be able to get that deal over the line.

With Newcastle unable to sign replacements for the Swedish international it's becoming increasingly likely that despite Isak's desire to leave, they won't let him and they will force him to stay at the club until at least January.

For Liverpool, this will mean a tricky decision will have to be made. Do they stay put and wait it out for Isak? Or do they pursue alternative options?

The chances are that after everything Isak has done to get this deal over the line, Liverpool won't sign an alternative option. Instead, they will wait it out if they have to until January.

At this moment in time, and it's a developing situation, this looks increasingly more likely.

Obviously, that will mean Arne Slot will have to go into the season as things are right now. What this means is that he'll have use his current options.

So, right now Federico Chiesa is the only back-up senior attacker. He can cover all three roles. Rio Ngumoha is another option on the left-wing.

Meanwhile, this may also be a golden opportunity for Jayden Danns to finally make his mark under the Dutchman.

Yes, he got that goal last season against Accrington in the FA Cup but Danns has been plagued by injuries over the course of the last 12 months.

He's been waiting for another chance and this could be his opportunity. Hugo Ekitike will not play all the games. There will be some matches when Danns will be needed and if he steps up in the same way he has stepped up every time he's put on the Liverpool shirt for the first team, he'll be an asset.

At the end of the day, Danns is an incredible talent. At 19-years-old, he's averaged a goal or assist every 91 minutes at all levels for Liverpool since making his U18s debut.

Long-term he's got every chance of being a regular and a future star under Slot. He just needs to be given an opportunity and Liverpool having to wait for Isak may be a silver lining for him and he may finally get his chance to impress.

You simply cannot rule it out at the moment.
