Rio Ngumoha confirms Liverpool have a player who's even more talented than Antoine Semenyo
Liverpool have had a tough time of it this season with Arne Slot's men often falling short at the final hurdle.
They're currently sitting outside of the Premier League's top four spots and even though they still have the Champions League to play for, it's unclear whether they'll actually be able to win the competition or not.
At the start of the 2025-26 season, Liverpool qualifying for the Champions League wasn't even a discussion but, due to the Reds' poor form and lack of cohesion, it's slowly becoming a real possibility.
However, this poor form hasn't stopped Rio Ngumoha from lauding one of his teammates.
Rio Ngumoha thinks that Mohamed Salah is a better player than Antoine Semenyo
Last season, Mohamed Salah was the main reason behind Liverpool's Premier League win.
The Reds were one of the most dominant teams in the world last season but, without Salah's 50 + goal contributions, they'd have been nowhere near as good.
Despite this, Slot and Richard Hughes chose to spend millions on improving their attacking ranks and, honestly, it feels like all the change at Anfield has just made things worse.
Salah has been a fraction of his former self but that didn't stop Ngumoha from claiming that the Egyptian King is one of the best wingers in the world.
While speaking to ESPN UK, the wonderkid was asked who his favourite wingers are at the moment with Salah making his top three.
“Right now I’ll say, [Jeremy] Doku, Mo [Salah] and Noni [Madueke], I like Noni,” he said.
So, not only did Ngumoha name Salah in his top three but he also missed out Antoine Semenyo who Liverpool were after for the longest time.
Mohamed Salah must get back to his best if Liverpool want to win the Champions League this season
It goes without saying that Liverpool's main goal for the rest of the 2025-26 season will be winning the Champions League.
Europe's premium competition is one of the last major pieces of silverware that Slot can bring home this term and, although they also have the FA Cup to think about, the Champions League will be their priority.
However, even though Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz are finally starting to reach their potential, Salah also needs to get back to his best if the Reds want to stand a chance of winning the Champions League.
If they don't manage to do this and bring the trophy home, the Dutchman will have some serious questions to answer with Fenway Sports Group likely to discuss whether Slot is the right person to take the club forward.
There's no knowing what the future has in store but without every single one of his players being at their best, it feels highly unlikely that the Anfield outfit will be able to beat some of Europe's top teams such as Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
