Liverpool have already been linked with moves for several players already.

During the January transfer window, Arne Slot and Richard Hughes chose against bringing anyone in despite Liverpool clearly needing some reinforcement.

Long-linked targets such as Marc Guehi and Antoine Semenyo were bought by Manchester City and, even though things have been better at Anfield over the last couple of months, the arrival of either of those two would've helped massively.

However, seeing as though there's only a few months until the 2026-27 summer transfer window is open, the rumour mill is going into overdrive.

The Reds' attack seems to be the area that the club are focusing on improving but, since almost every other big Premier League club wants to sign the same players, there's bound to be a lot of competition.

This is why Hughes needs to act fast, otherwise the Anfield outfit will continue missing out on their targets.

Manchester United are leading the way for Mateus Mane

At the moment, Mateus Mane and Yan Diomande are the two most likely attacker's for Liverpool to sign this summer .

The duo are two of the most sought-after attackers in the world due to their age and their ability.

Both would cost any club that's interested in signing them a hefty chunk of change, but, with teams now wanting to prepare for their future, a move for both players makes plenty of sense.

However, in Mane's case, Liverpool could face a bit of a struggle trying to sign him as Manchester United are the ones leading the way for his transfer.

That is, according to an update from Dean Jones via TEAMtalk who says that United's interested is something that fans should "pay attention to."

“Mateus Mane is being linked to United and I have had quite interesting reports on this one because people close to the club admit he is an interesting option and that his profile does make sense," he said.

“He obviously has a sense of versatility for the attack and midfield, but he also has potential to grow into a star.

“When we consider what they want to do in the summer, he would be quite a good player to go for because he is the kind of progressive talent they want to invest in.

“We all know they are looking at signing well-established stars from within the Premier League, but they would like to start signing players like this too.

“The fact that he could provide cover in various positions across the side means the stories linking him to United for the summer are worth paying some attention to.”

If Liverpool are serious about Mateus Mane, they need to get a transfer plan into action

Although Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz were all brought in to try and bolster Liverpool's attack this summer, it's been made more than clear that some extra talent is needed.

Most fans thought that Isak and Mohamed Salah would be a rather dynamic duo but due to things such as injuries and poor form, that's not been the case.

Wirtz and Ekitike have finally started to show their true colours and have recently proved why Slot and Hughes spent so much on then but, if some extra players aren't brought in soon, they could end up dropping even further down the Premier League table.

Mane already has plenty of Premier League experience and while he may only be 18 years old, his versatility is second to none.

In the 33 games he's played for Wolves this term, he's contributed to 13 goals which is why the £50 million fee that the Premier League outfit want for him doesn't seem too outlandish.

However, since several other clubs including Man United are interested in him, it feels like the Reds need to make their interest known sooner rather than later.

Otherwise, they could end up missing out on another one of their transfer targets to a rival.
