Offer being prepared for Liverpool's James Milner regen
Liverpool have a number of young talents on their books that are subject to outside interest.
The squad is well and truly stacked right now. Before the summer ends, the club's net-spend will fall significantly as Arne Slot begins to outline his plans for the upcoming campaign. It's an exciting time.

Pre-season has been a good indicator to assess whether any of Liverpool's promising stars are ready for a more regular first-team involvement and others have shot up the club's pecking order.

But we're now nearing the start of the season and a number of judgement calls will need to be made.
Some will be loan moves and others might be moved on permanently. There are plenty of options.
Stephenson considered for move
One of the main youngsters Liverpool have been developing recently has been Luca Stephenson, a 21-year-old English player capable of performing in a number of different positions around the pitch.
By trade, he is a midfielder, but his time spent in the first-team has seen him become a makeshift right-back and centre-back. In some ways, he's our new James Milner, playing all over the place.

He's been a key asset in the pre-season tour of Asia, playing in defensive positions and his ability to play makeshift roles has become incredibly important, while Liverpool's squad planning continues.
But if the Reds do sign a centre-back, then it is highly likely that Stephenson will be pushed out of the squad, since we have two right-backs and the midfield pack is almost impenitrable right now.
As such, his future is being considered. According to Liverpool ECHO, we have options to consider.
In their report, Ian Doyle writes: "The 21-year-old has featured regularly during pre-season and, as part of the tour to the Far East, impressed Liverpool's senior coaching staff in both training and his time during games.
"Dundee United, where he spend the last campaign on loan and was named their Young Player of the Season, would welcome another loan move, while Championship side Swansea City and League One outfits Cardiff City, Reading and Rotherham are also interested.
"Another Scottish side, Aberdeen, are also admirers of the player and are considering a permanent move having previously signed Leighton Clarkson from the Reds."

Letting him go on loan would likely be the club's ideal preference and a new contract would subsequently be agreed if that was the path taken. But he will be wanting regular minutes sooner rather than later and losing to a permanent move would certainly be a blow for the academy.
The problem is, his main strength is probably his main weakness. How does he fit into Liverpool's plans if he isn't considered good enough to play a specific position. Slot moving him around gives us the sense that Stephenson is appreciated. But the Dutchman might also be struggling to utilise him.
As such, the next few weeks are going to be huge for his future. If considerations for a permanent move result in an offer being sent to Liverpool, then a decisive call will need to be made on him.
