Liverpool's new signing has finally trained with the club for the first time.

It's been a busy period for Richard Hughes. The last six months have seen him bring in a lot of important signings.

Liverpool may not have been perfect on the pitch this season, but in the boardroom the club's sporting director has been pretty much immaculate.

Sure, there could have been a few areas where he may have bolstered the team. But ultimately, Hughes is playing a long-term strategy.

He's thinking about building a super team for Liverpool, and that takes time. Rome was not built in a day.

Liverpool are going to get there. Whether it's with Arne Slot or someone else, it remains to be seen. But ultimately they have the players to reach the highest stages again.

January may have been a quiet period in this regard but actually Hughes still pulled off a lot of important long-term deals.

He signed Jeremy Jacquet and Ifeanyi Ndukwe. Those two signings are going to be joining the club in the summer.

Alongside them, Hughes also secured the future of Mor Talla Ndiaye.

An 18-year-old centre-back, he joins the club from Senegal and he was able to arrive immediately.

However, during his medical Liverpool spotted a slight injury and that meant Ndiaye could not train with the squad.

Earlier this week, he teased that he was back in action, sharing an image of himself in Liverpool training gear and now the club's new signing also participated in a training session.

According to Jack Lusby, Ndiaye took part in a session with Rob Page's U21 side.

This is great news. It's fantastic to see that Ndiaye is now able to be part of the action for Liverpool. It's also important to not rush him back too soon.

He's making a huge leap from Senegal to Anfield. He needs the time to adjust and even just acclimatise to the weather in England.

Liverpool will be patient with him and the next few months are naturally just going to be about bringing him to understand the demands of English football and helping him settle.

However, even with that being said, there could be opportunities for Ndiaye to be involved as the season progresses.

Liverpool's U21 side are depleted in the centre-back department. Right now Amara Nallo is suspended, Wellity Lucky is injured. Meanwhile, at first-team level the situation is volatile as well.

Joe Gomez has just returned from injury, but he is always on the precipice of picking up another one. Behind him, Wataru Endo who can play as a centre-back is also out for a while.
