An exciting midfielder has confirmed his future plans while suggesting he may be ready to join Liverpool.

Okay, so the transfer window has ended. We can all take a deep breath knowing we hopefully never have to keep track of Newcastle United's tiring dealings in the market ever again.

But the transfer cycle never really stops in football. This is a game that is all about predicting and preparing for the future at boardroom level.

Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards will not be going on holiday any time soon. They will already be working towards the future and pondering on how they can make this Liverpool team even better.

That's a difficult one given the level of reinforcements this summer. Although there are probably a couple of weak spots that remain in the squad.

At centre-back, Marc Guehi didn't come in after his move collapsed so that's an area where Liverpool will likely look to strengthen again, probably trying to sign the England international.

In midfield, you'd say there is probably room for one more. Meanwhile, in attack, you'd think the Reds may look to target a right-winger in the future given Mo Salah's age and the fact that no one else can really play in that position in the squad - perhaps only Jeremie Frimpong.

The midfield market is definitely going to be an interesting one for Liverpool. Adam Wharton and Carlos Baleba are two players they are going to keep an eye on.

Lamine Camara of AS Monaco is one to watch. Meanwhile, Angelo Stiller from Stuttgart has also been touted as a potential new arrival.

The German international who is on Liverpool's radar has recently opened up about his future as per Fabrizio Romano and in that interview he confirmed he wants to play abroad.

On top of that, Stiller also added that he admired Wirtz's move to Liverpool, suggesting he may also be open to joining the Reds and following in the footsteps of his compatriot.

“I'm interested in moving abroad at some point," Stiller said.

“I thought Florian Wirtz's decision to go to Liverpool was cool. But only one thing is certain for me: at the end of my career, I absolutely want to play in the USA."

Stiller name dropping the Reds cannot be a coincidence. Especially at a time when Liverpool have been linked with the German international.

He fits the profile of the type of midfielder Arne Slot likes to work with. He isn't necessarily a suitable no.6. But he could be a potential replacement/back-u-p for Alexis Mac Allister with the two of them having very similar stylistic profiles.

Whether Liverpool do end up moving for him in the future remains to be seen. At this moment in time, Liverpool probably need more of a destroyer and controller type of midfielder and that profile is more suited to Baleba.
