Darwin Nunez is going to be on the move this summer and the chances are he could end-up in Saudi Arabia.

It was clubs from the region who were the most keen on him back during the January transfer window. Nunez was the subject of a bid from Saudi Arabia, which was rejected by Liverpool at the time.

This bid was exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch before anyone else and it was in the region of £70m.

Liverpool wanted more for Nunez and they could not find a replacement in time. Both of these factors meant the Reds were unable to sell him.

However, this summer things will be different. Nunez has really failed to make his mark in Arne Slot's team. It's very clear that his future lies away from Anfield and the club has now set their sights on bringing in a new striker.

Amid Liverpool's hunt for a proven goal-scorer, Nunez will be free to look for pastures new.

Saudi Arabian sides make Nunez their top target

The question that remains is whether Saudi sides are prepared to make an offer for him again. The answer seems to be yes and there is a feeling a mega bid surpassing their offer of £70m could be imminent.

According to Saudi outlet Asharq Al-Awsat the Saudi Pro League has made Nunez one of their top targets this summer.

The report claims that Al Hilal, Al Ittihad, Al Ahli and Al Nassr all want to sign the Uruguayan.

Among those clubs, the former are managed by Nunez's former Benfica manager, Jorge Jesus and they are competing in the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States this summer.

The report claims above that all four clubs have prioritised a move for Nunez. Meanwhile, Kaoru Mitoma and Luis Diaz have also both been listed as targets.

With the transfer window opening up on June 1st a bid now seems imminent for the Liverpool forward.

The Reds will want to wrap up a deal for Nunez as soon as possible so they can move onto their next targets and find the perfect no.9 for Slot's style of play.

It has been very clear from the last few months that there is no future for Nunez at Anfield so the sooner his future is settled the better.
