Liverpool ALREADY in contact with midfield transfer target
Liverpool won the Premier League title - with their four leading midfielders in particular playing a prominent role.
Arne Slot asked a lot from Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and - to a slightly lesser extent - Curtis Jones.

Gravenberch looked jaded by the end of the campaign, highlighting Liverpool’s inability - or unwillingness - to add to their midfield options last summer.

Having missed out on Martin Zubimendi, it was decided to face the season with the options left to Slot by Jurgen Klopp. But with a Premier League title to defend - and multiple other competitions to fight for - the Reds will sooner or later require reinforcements.
Ederson linked again with Liverpool
And if the latest reports from Italy are to be believed, they are going to move for a familiar target this summer. Ederson, 25, first appeared on Liverpool’s radar towards the end of last season after his Atalanta side eliminated the Reds from the Europa League.
The Brazil international was imperious and was subsequently linked with several of Europe’s top sides - Liverpool included.
He opted to stay put - helping La Dea qualify for the Champions League - but the problem for his current club is that his contract runs out in 2027 and has shown no willingness to renew.
Therefore Atalanta face the prospect of cashing in on Ederson this summer or else risk losing him for a vastly diminished fee in 2026.
Liverpool among teams to contact Ederson
And Tutto Atalanta now claims that the Reds are among the teams to have made contact for Ederson ahead of the transfer window opening.
“The Brazilian Ederson is probably the prized piece with the greatest number of suitors in Europe: Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle and Barcelona have already started preliminary contacts,” the report reads.
“The Nerazzurri management must choose: cash in immediately or focus on his sporting value and risk seeing him leave for lower figures next year?”
