Liverpool have an exciting striker who can now join the club after some phenomenal performances.

The Reds are still a little lightweight in attack. Alexander Isak's injury has definitely taken a toll on Hugo Ekitike.

The Frenchman has become Liverpool's sole no.9 for the last few months and required to play every minute of every game.

That hasn't been easy on Ekitike. Yet he's still delivering impressive numbers with 19 goals and assists so far this season.

Isak's return should hopefully alleviate the pressure on the Frenchman.

However, long-term it is becoming clear that Liverpool cannot rely on Isak and Ekitike alone, especially if they want the two players to play together.

In an ideal world, they need a third striker. A back-up option who can operate behind Isak and Ekitike but who has the potential to be competing with them as well.

When looking for back-up options, there is no better team to search for potential gems than at Red Bull Salzburg. How many of the club's best players made their names at one of Red Bull's clubs?

Ibrahima Konate, Dominik Szoboszlai and Sadio Mane. Not to mention Takumi Minamino and Naby Keita also all played for Red Bull, four of them represented Red Bull Salzburg.

The Austrian giants have a knack for finding the best talents worldwide, particularly when it comes to attacking talent.

This is the club that also helped Erling Haaland, Benjamin Sesko and many others break onto the scene.

Now there's another special forward following in their footsteps who was previously unavailable due to an ACL injury but a potential move for him is now on again.

Karim Konate has long been considered as the best striker talent to come through at Salzburg since Haaland. In his entire career so far he has averaged a goal or assist every 83 minutes for his current team.

This equals to 49 goal contributions in just over 4062 minutes played.

It's an incredible record and it just gives you a taste of the kind of player he is. Konate is an advanced forward who thrives inside the box and who loves to find space and get himself into goal-scoring opportunities.

He has elite movement, a great burst of speed and excellent finishing attributes.

At just 21-years-old, he looks like he can go to the very top of the game.

However, an ACL injury he suffered last season looked to potentially derail or even curtail his promising career. Konate missed over a year of football.

He came back towards the end of December and was gradually phased back at Salzburg.

This worked a treat. In 316 minutes so far, Konate already has five goal contributions. He scored against Aston Villa in the Europa League and has netted both in the Austrian Cup and the Austrian Bundesliga.

That quick start shows that there should be no concerns about his injury. Thankfully, young players can bounce back a lot easier from an ACL blow. Konate got the very best treatment and he's come back and started how he left off.

It's clear he is a phenomenal striker and it's also very clear now that he is free of his injury he can absolutely join Liverpool. Behind Ekitike and Isak, he's the perfect option.
