Liverpool would love to agree deal for Premier League’s 4th-fastest player

Liverpool have eyes on a star who is the fourth fastest in the Premier League this season. Can they get a deal done?

Liverpool need pace. They desperately need pace.

That’s been abundantly clear this season as the Reds struggle to hurt teams. That basically comes down to selling Luis Diaz in the summer without a replacement - something that has left the team without a dynamic element up top.

Liverpool aren’t particularly good on the counter, nor can they hurt teams from wide areas. It’s the opposite of the Jurgen Klopp era and something will need to change in the summer.

Maybe Rio Ngumoha can step up and deliver that? But Liverpool surely won’t want to bank on a teenager to save them next season, even if he is the big hope for the remainder of this campaign.

Someone big must arrive in the summer. Someone who can deliver the kind of pace and dynamism that Liverpool sorely need.

The Anthony Gordon campaign continues

There may be no better option for Liverpool than Anthony Gordon. If we ignore the fact that Newcastle United won't want to sell the player, anyway.

The winger is a boyhood Red and someone actually eager to join Liverpool. They've got an advantage here for a homegrown talent and it's one they should take regardless of that fact.

For Gordon has been demonstrating brilliantly this season that he's got the pace to hurt teams. He's the fastest winger in the UEFA Champions League this season, something that's helped him to 12 goals and assists across the competition.

And as F365 point out with help from Gradient, Gordon is also the fourth-fastest player in the Premier League. He boasts the lightning pace that Liverpool need and to a truly elite level.

Caughtoffside are the latest outlet to report on Liverpool's interest in him. Though, there's no doubt that the Reds would like Gordon, having come very close to snapping him up back in 2024.

Maybe 2026 is the year, though. The timing, from Liverpool's standpoint, is certainly right.
