As the Premier League champions, Hughes has brought in new weapons for Slot, including the phenomenal additions of Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez.

Not to mention Jeremie Frimpong has also come in to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The squad is shaping up nicely. But Liverpool are not done yet. The Reds want to sign Alexander Isak and have made a move to bring him in from Newcastle.

If that deal doesn't work out, Hughes will explore a move for Hugo Ekitike, with Liverpool keen on adding a no.9.

There is no understating just how significant bringing in Isak would be for Liverpool. The prospect of him linking-up with Mohamed Salah and Wirtz is incredible.

But he is not the only striker Liverpool are trying to sign.

This summer Liverpool's mission is not only to build for the present but to build a dynasty that can compete at the highest levels for decades to come.

That's why the Reds have been looking to recruit at academy level as well with the likes of Gabriel Schluter and Will Wright on the club's radar.

Meanwhile, Armin Pecsi, who is regarded as one of the best young goalkeepers in European football, has also been brought in.

The club is also making changes within the coaching department. To work alongside Liverpool's youngsters, Rob Page has been appointed as the Reds U21 coach.

Page comes with a lot of experience, having managed Wales at senior level and having done a great job at integrating the likes of Neco Williams and Brennan Johnson into the senior set-up.

As well as Page, Liverpool are also looking to recruit an U18 head coach, and for this according to The Athletic Manchester United's Simon Wiles has become a leading candidate with the Reds closing in on his appointment.

Wiles currently works at United's academy, however previous he was an assistant manager at Salford City. During his time at Salford, Wiles actually worked alongside the aforementioned Wright.

It was reported earlier by Alex Crook that Liverpool were closing in on the young striker's signature however it seems that Crook has changed his stance as he reported later that Arsenal have entered the race for the 17-year-old as well.

Wright scored 40+ goals for Salford City at academy level and it seems like he now has a decision to make. Surely the fact that at Liverpool he'd be working alongside a man in Wiles who he will know from his time at Salford could be a massive advantage in the Reds' race to sign him.
