With Darwin Nunez set to leave, and potentially Federico Chiesa and even Luis Diaz also on their way out, or at least that being an option, Liverpool need to bring in a new striker, or maybe even two.

Who that striker will be remains to be seen.

The Reds have set their sights on Alexander Isak as the dream candidate. Meanwhile, the possibility remains of pursuing a move for Hugo Ekitike.

But it's not just these two names who are on the club's radar. Richard Hughes is also targeting another exciting forward, who has just sent a timely reminder to the club about his exciting talent.

As we've reported previously, Liverpool have entered talks to sign Will Wright from Salford City.

The 17-year-old forward already stands at 6 foot 3 and he has made his senior debut for the club, even making an appearance against Manchester City in the FA Cup.

Wright bagged over 40-goals at academy level last season, and it's expected for him to have a break-out year this time around.

Where that will be remains to be seen. Currently, he is preparing with Salford's first team and he's sent the Reds a timely reminder of his talent.

In a pre-season friendly against FC United of Manchester, Wright scored a brace in a 2-2 draw. The first was an easy finish inside the box but the second showcased his brilliant ability.

Wright picked up the ball around the midway point of the opposition's half and he ran through a thicket of defenders, beating one, then two defenders before unleashing a stupendous effort on goal that went into the back of the net.

It was a stunning finish and the fact that Wright's goals salvaged a draw for Salford just goes to show what a special teenager he is. Already he is making an impact at senior level.
