Liverpool officially ANNOUNCE Trent Alexander-Arnold replacement
The news that Trent Alexander-Arnold will leave his boyhood club after 20 years did not go down well among Liverpool supporters.
Some vented their frustrations by booing the right-back, others took to social media to condemn the move, but no Liverpool fan was happy to see Trent go.

That announcement came almost two weeks ago and in football a fortnight is a long time.
There was plenty of speculation surrounding the Reds’ potential Alexander-Arnold replacement before his departure was confirmed, but the official announcement added fuel to the flames.
That speculation all came to an end on Saturday however, and Liverpool’s new right-back has now been announced.
Liverpool announce their new right-back
News broke on Saturday afternoon that Liverpool’s pursuit of Jeremie Frimpong had moved to the next step.
A number of top transfer insiders including Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein revealed that the Reds had reached an agreement with Frimpong and would be paying his €35 million release clause.

A medical is now reportedly booked and the Dutchman looks set to sign a five-year deal.
It was a few hours before this news broke that Liverpool announced their new right-back though.
Liverpool made the announcement on their website and on social media that Conor Bradley had signed a new long-term contract with the club, one that will keep him at the club until 2029.
This announcement was just as telling as the news about Frimpong.
Arne Slot has already named Bradley as the started for the remainder of the season, and this show of faith from the Anfield hierarchy is proof that the Northern Irish international will be the Reds’ first choice regardless of Frimpong’s arrival.
Bradley has already played 27 times for Liverpool this season and 55 times across his career, and the 21-year-old is set to take on more responsibility as the first choice right-back next season.
Frimpong and Bradley will likely battle it out in pre-season before working in tandem to replace Alexander-Arnold, but the fact that Liverpool were willing to give their youngster a new contract so quickly after Trent’s departure was made official shows the faith they have in him.

Arne Slot has shown this season that he sticks with the players he trusts, we know he trusts Bradley – the club clearly have faith in his abilities – and all signs point to the youngster stepping up to fill the void left by Alexander-Arnold.
