Liverpool THREATENED by Arsenal for €65m midfielder
Liverpool’s scheduled summer overhaul so far hasn’t included a central midfielder. But that could be about to change as the Reds face a threat from Arsenal.
Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister all featured extensively throughout the Premier League title-winning campaign. And Curtis Jones performed admirably when asked to.

Given the strain on those four, it would be surprising if Liverpool went into the 2025/26 season with the same blend of midfielders. Of course there is also Wataru Endo, but the Japan captain is seen more as a reserve than a starter under Arne Slot.

A new midfielder - capable of pushing the starters for a spot in the team - would be welcomed.
Bearing in mind there is a contract issue to solve in the case of Jones - not to mention Real Madrid’s continued interest in Mac Allister - and you can see why Slot and Richard Hughes would be prudent in acquiring a new midfielder.
Liverpool keen on €65m-rated Warren Zaire-Emery
That’s why the links with Warren Zaire-Emery make sense. Anfieldwatch brought you the news that Liverpool recruiters had the 19-year-old Paris Saint-Germain star under consideration.
Although the homegrown talent is under contract until 2029, Liverpool might well believe they have a shot at signing him. Rated at €65m, Zaire-Emery has fallen down the pecking order under Luis Enrique.
He’s had to sit and watch as Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha and Joao Neves excel in the middle of the park - leading PSG to their first-ever Champions League title.
There could be movement on Zaire-Emery this summer but Liverpool need to pay attention to Arsenal.
Arsenal and Chelsea move in for Zaire-Emery
According to a new report on TBR Football, Mikel Arteta has identified the France international as a potential incoming this off-season.

“Arsenal have made an enquiry to PSG regarding Zaire-Emery’s availability this summer,” a report reads.
“Zaire-Emery still has four years left on his current deal at PSG, but that hasn’t stopped enquiries from a number of Europe’s top clubs.
“And Arsenal are one of those teams along with Chelsea and Liverpool, who all have historic interest in the brilliant youngster.”

The Reds moved early to identify Zaire-Emery as their ideal midfield target. They now risk letting other Premier League sides - such as Arsenal and Chelsea - steal in at this late stage.
Having put in the groundwork for the tireless midfield talent, Liverpool need to ensure that Arsenal don’t swoop in.
