The Hungary captain posted an image of a pair of custom boots sent to him by Vinicius Junior - and it’s recently emerged that the duo are close friends.

Then there’s a post on Instagram which was liked by Szoboszlai - stating it was always his dream to play for the Bernabeu outfit.

Szoboszlai is under contract until 2028 - having signed in 2023 on a five-year contract worth a reported £120k to £150k per week.

Liverpool are going to have to come up with much more than that in order to tie the No8 down to a renewal. In fact reports suggest Szoboszlai is set to ask for £250k or more in his new deal at Anfield.

Vini launches Szoboszlai charm offensive

And in Madrid there appears to be an acknowledgement that Vini is doing all he can to attract his friend to the Spanish capital.

Having worked on Kylian Mbappe before the Frenchman signed for Real Vini has launched a charm offensive - with Defensa Central claiming the Brazil international sees Szobo as Madrid’s ideal signing.

“Vinicius insists that Szoboszlai is the ideal signing for Real Madrid's midfield next season,” the report reads.

“The Hungarian, who plays for Liverpool, is one of the Premier League's biggest sensations and seems to have a very close relationship with Vinicius Junior.

“Within Real Madrid, there's a lot of talk about what the Hungarian can bring to the team's system. It wouldn't be surprising if he's doing his part to encourage Szobozslai to join Real Madrid.”

Liverpool in control of Szoboszlai future

Liverpool remain in control of the Szoboszlai situation with two years left to run on his contract. But if club bosses get an indication that Szoboszlai won’t renew then they will have a decision to make.

With Madrid facing a significant midfield overhaul next summer don’t be surprised if they make a move for Liverpool’s frontrunner for their player of the year award.
