Spanish giants make offer for Liverpool midfielder who wants LaLiga move

Liverpool have been tipped to conduct a summer transfer overhaul. We have already seen Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pecsi arrive - while there are plans to add Milos Kerkez and Florian Wirtz before long.

Trent Alexander-Arnold meanwhile, as well as Caoimhin Kelleher, have already departed the Premier League champions. But the shakeup won’t stop there.

Sporting director Richard Hughes and head coach Arne Slot are seeking upgrades all over the pitch - which could have a significant knock-on effect for several current squad members.

Federico Chiesa and Luis Diaz are among the title winners who could be sacrificed to make way for new signings. Up front, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez have been linked with the exit.

In defence, the likes of Jarell Quansah and Joe Gomez could end up leaving - while there is a problem to solve with Ibrahima Konate’s contract too.

Bajcetic future in doubt under Arne Slot

If Kerkez comes in then either Andy Robertson or Kostas Tsimikas could be on their way.

And some of the fringe players could move on in order to generate extra transfer funds for Hughes and Slot.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see James McConnell, Jayden Danns, Tyler Morton and Ben Doak shipped out. And in Stefan Bajcetic, the Reds have another player who could be flipped for profit.

The 20-year-old joined Liverpool back in 2021 from Celta Vigo - making a decisive breakthrough during the 2022/23 season under Jurgen Klopp.

Spain under-21 international Bajcetic has since endured a tough time with injuries - missing almost the entirety of the 2023/24 campaign. He was back in action last term though - joining Pep Lijnders at Red Bull Salzburg on loan in the summer transfer window.

Bajcetic was on the move again in the winter window as his move to Austria didn’t work out. The defensive midfielder opted for a move to LaLiga side Las Palmas - and he fared decently across 14 top-flight outings.

Valencia interested in Bajcetic

Las Palmas were relegated however, with Bajcetic returning to Liverpool in the off-season. The player has since undergone surgery on a hamstring issue - meaning his participation in pre-season could be in doubt.

It’s been reported that Arne Slot would offer the midfielder a chance to stake a claim in the first-team squad but the latest reports out of Spain suggest a quick return for Bajcetic.

Las Palmas are out of the running due to their relegation but Valencia are now reported to be keen on adding him.

Bajcetic wants LaLiga return

Describing Bajcetic as a “luxury reinforcement”, Gol Digital states that he is wanted to replace Enzo Barrenechea - who is returning to Aston Villa following his loan spell.

It’s claimed that Valencia head coach Carlos Corberan has offered the Argentine’s place in the team to Bajcetic ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Furthermore, it’s claimed that Bajcetic is now seeking a LaLiga move - thereby plunging his Liverpool future into doubt. Bajcetic is under contract at Anfield until 2027 and it remains to be seen what the Reds do amid this latest Valencia interest.
